I am trying to find more information on Vance’s Legion. I know that some of the men for the Legion served in Companies E and H of the 58th North Carolina Troops, and that a cavalry company (would become Company A, 4th NCC) was a part of the Legion, but I cannot find any more of the companies. The Legion was never formally organized and existed in name only for about a month.

I’ve got the info from volume 1 of Vance’s letters, and from Dowdy’s bio of Vance, along with one or two more pieces of information. Does anyone know of any of the other companies and where they wound up?
