Sir, I could not agree anymore. I'm proud of the USA and how this country was founded. Let's however make this point, there is a lot of talk about THE LAW on this board. Well folks the taxes and acts that were passed against the colonist was done with the full support of Parliament. THE Law said this was legal. The British were operating within THE LAW. Hummmm, maybe THE LAW isn't always right? Many loyalist were against the policies of the King, but didn't want to take extra-legal steps against the Crown. These people loved America too, though they did not see things as some of their comrades may have. Like you, Mr. Erickson, I think the word "traitor" is used a little too freely by both sides in both wars.
