That brings up an interesting thought. One of the reasons the South did not like factory work or wage labor is that it would make slaves out of them. Now if you look at it in that light, aren't we all indentured servants (slaves) working for a period of time then retiring. We sold ourselves into a job (career) for wages paid weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly. We have become what our Southern forefathers fought against. I guess you can say the South was reconstruted to fit the Yankee image of slavery. Where all men are slaves to the rich man, but susposedly all men have the opportunity to be Masters.
