I have no idea about blacks ratifying the constitution in either the North or the South. I admit it is just something I know nothing about.

Now sir if you don't mind I would like to point out that you seem to be using some double speak on me. I post your quote as an example.

Still we are seeing a "Northern" State and its laws regardless of where the people were from.

Your Quakers were only one group of people, why can't we use the plantation owners, as an example, who wanted to train and free the slaves and were not allowed to do so. (As posted by Stephen above)

No sir I will not laugh at your ancestor being a nurse. I have been patched up several times by a nurse. My wife is a nurse, and a good one, and one of my ancestors was a detailed as a Confederate nurse for a while. When a man is hurt and in pain, a nurse is sometimes the only thing that is willing and able to help. No sir I will not laugh.
