AS I reported yesterday, the Mayor of New York was at the center of a secession plot to take the three islands and create a State of their own. Well it seems that one of the men told the abolitionists that they agreed that slavery was appalling but "this isn't about morality, it's about business". To those New Yorkers the Southern dollar was more important to them than an issue of slavery. Their intent was to create a State that would be in alliance with the Confederacy, but still a Union State. Greed wears all colors of Uniforms.
