I try to be objective also. I have a method I use to get the kids attention. I usually teach in middle schools and the kids are very impressionable. When I am teaching on a particular period I dress the part. When I teach the Revolutionary War period I dress as one of the Virginia militiamen who defeated the British at King's Mountain. This is easy because I reenact Col. Bowen's Company of Va. Militia. When I reach the Civil War I use both uniforms for Confederate and Union Artillery. It is getting harder these days because our illustrious leaders in government have just about done away with real American history in the schools. According to them if it wasn't nice and politically correct, it didn't happen. All our kids know now is that their heroes are usually illiterate fools who play games for a living or those who use trashy language set to some semblance of a melody and call it "music". But, I digress and must get off my soap box.

Thanks for the kudos
