I know you must have hated doing that. The stray I shot died with a pork chop bone in his mouth. I used it to get him out from under the house. It took my dog a long time to get over the mange. I still did not enjoy killing the stray. On the lighter side. Dr. Riddle was the neighborhood vet. His office was just down the street from the Marietta National Cemetery. Once Little Jack Barfield put a BB in his index finger while trying to cock his Red Ryder BB gun, which was almost as tall as he was. We took him to Dr. Riddle, so his mama wouldn't find out, and Dr. Riddle took the BB out of his finger. He kidded us about vaccinating Jack, so we could get tags for him.
