Re: Mixed Races, Indian and White

Five "Civilized" Tribes, that's another term they resent, with a quote" we're human's too".

The Period I'm talking about is shortly after Jackson, I think Opothleyahola was Principle Chief and signed the 1814 Treaty.

There has always been a split in the Creek nation, the Upper Creeks lived in Northern Alabama into Georgia and the Lower Creeks live in Southern Alabama and Florida. They had different outlooks on life, including Government.

The Chief of the Southern/Lower Creeks was Chilly McIntosh, I think that is the correct first name. Their feud lasted until after the War for Southern Independence.

Yahola was over 80+ years at the time of the War and McIntosh was around 60.

When they arrived in Indian Territory in 1838 or here abouts they established themselves exactly like they were in Alabama, Upper Creeks moving North along the Arkansas and Lower Creeks living South around the South Canadian. The North Canadian was common ground with the First Capital being at Hitchita, near Checotah Ok. they later moved the capital to Okmulgee where it is today Along the Deep Fork of the Canadian River, we just call it Deep Fork.
