By the end of the Civil War, Missouri had supplied nearly 110,000 troops for the Union Army and about 40,000 troops for the Confederate Army.
Thank You!!! Ms. Carolyn you are certainly posting new information to me...110,000 troops for the Union and 40,000 troops for the Confederate Army. From what I had heard and also read on this board, it look like everyone from Missouri was pro-Southern. Should your information be accurate and dear lady, I do not doubt your word for a second, it only serves to prove that you should always research your facts before taking things for granted. Over twice as many for the North!!! I shall now have to check out Kentucky regiments for I'm starting to get the feeling more of them may be Union than I thought. Thank you again my dear lady.
William Henry Seward once told Stephen Douglas "You won't get elected Governor if you spell negro with two G's".
