I'm very sure I read that there was a mill in Woodville, Mississippi that was producing jean cloth before the war and throughout the beginning of the war. I think it was a dark jean. It is referenced in David Holt's book " Mississippi Rebel in the Army of Northern Virginia: The Civil War Memoirs of Private David Holt."
