Throughout history you will notice some Battles have become massacres. Take the Ft Pillow incident, the Southern people say "Glorious Victory" while the Northern people say "Brutal Massacre".
Like I said this occurs throughout history, even General Lee was looking for his "Cannae" (I forgot the correct spelling). But if you fast forward to the Great Indian Wars there were several massacres there, like the Fetterman Massacre otherwise known as the Battle of the Hundred in the Hand, and the Custer Massacre, Battle of the Greasy Grass.
To the loser of the Battle it is a masscre, the Victor is is a great win, only those in attendance will ever know the difference.
