Yes. They were in the wheatfield on the second day, as part of Wofford's Brigade. He was their first Colonel. At first, the 18th was in the Texas Brigade, under Hood. They were in the cornfield at Antietam, or Sharpsburg. By that time Wofford was the Texas Brigade commander, after Hood was given a corps. MY ggf and two great ubcles were in Co. A. My ggf died near Seven Pines, in May of '62. He's buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond. Uncle Frank was wounded at Spotsyvania May 8 or 9, 1864. He took a minie ball through the shoulder. I t broke his left shoulder blade and came out near the spine. He was back on recuperating, and was captured near Roswell, GA., Jukly 11, 1864, and sent to Camp Douglas. He was released in June, 1865, but had contracted rheumatism, which pretty much crippled him. Uncle Alex was made 4th Sgt. in '63. He was captured at Cedar Creek, October 19, 1864. He was sent to Ft. Delaware. He was also released in June 1865. I know, "Yes" would have been an answer. LOL Stan
