Well, you know what they say, in love and war everything is fair, and I say this light hearted, but seriously, I find it especially grievous that the men who were reared in the South, had married a woman who had grown up in the South, perhaps, would desert, in effect, his very family, his wife's family, and go to sign up with the north, knowing that he would possibly come back to his own homeland and would be obligated to kill his own brothers in battle, it is very difficult for me to have any sympathy for this kind of person. Of course, women and children should have been shielded from any kind of violence, on either side.
