How Private Peck put down the Rebellion

When your brain starts hurting from all the heavy research but you still have not had enough, pick up this book. It is not meant to be factual, it is full of exaggerations but it does give some insight into the life of a soldier. George Peck was a self admitted coward and did not want to fight but by 1866 he was commissioned a second Lt. His main occupation seems to be humorist. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will probably read it again.

Does anyone have other light reading to recommend?
