One portion of this I find very interesting. I believe I understand it correctly but would like to offer it up for your review. I always thought England did NOT recognize the CSA governmemnt.
Now according to Mr. Chase's opinion, we engaged in a civil war. After reading this article it appears that the Chase opinion is by standards mentioned, is wrong.
Please start at "It is not the less a civil war" and read to "definitions and ingenious sophisms"
I gather that by the actions of the Queen of England we were in a recognized international war. Do you agree? If not why?
