Martin,

I hate to say it but, there is just a bunch of double talk with a sugar coating. We know Lincoln did not hve the power to declare war, and in my previous post I believe it is quite understandable that this was a war and not a rebellion. We know slavery was legal in most states not in the northwest territory though, as i pointed out last night. We know Lincoln did not emancipate any slave, nor did he have the power to do so. We know Lincoln could have prevented the war and actually made efforts to push the South into war. We also know Lincoln abused his power. We know Lincoln is responsible for the deaths of more Americans than any man in history and this includes men, women and children, of different races and religions.

I gather The Honorable Frank J. Williams is speaking more on his opinion than fact.
