I brought the secession up because of a challenge I issued to you from a prior conversation. Kind of chiding you to prove me wrong.
In 1861 General Don Carlos Buell and General Nelson entered into Kentucky and started recruiting Union Troops. The Govenor of Kentucky sent a message to President Abraham Lincoln citing Kentucky's wish to remain Nuetral. He requested Lincoln pull his Generals out of Kentucky before Confederate forces entered Kentucky and it subsequently became a battle ground. Lincoln replied that no one had told him had that Kentucky wished to be nuetral and refused to remove the troops. One of Lincoln's statements referring to Kentucky was "to lose Kentucky is to lose the War".
The Border States like Kentucky, Missouri and Tennessee, it wasn't healthy to be on either side nor in the middle, I hate that your family went through those hardships. I too wish they had caught the rapist and hung everyone of them by their appendages.
