Re: The Confederate Soldier
In Response To: The Confederate Soldier ()

A lot of these soldiers went home to rebuild the communities they lived in. For example Evan P. Howell of Howells Artillery went back to Howell's Mills which he later named Duluth, Ga by him, He later became one editor of the Atlanta Constitution and the list goes on and on. The point is these men came back to be pillars of thier community. They did not disappear. Even those unknown soldier who died still exist as reminders of the cause. At Allatoona Pass there is still a sign near the railroad tracks reminding people of the unknown soldier buried there. These men exist to day as an example of how we should live.
