Gen. Wofford of the 18th Ga. Infantry, before he was Brigade Commander, was a delegate to the secession convention. He was against it, but when it passed, he raised a regiment, which included my GGF and two great uncles. They owned no slaves. When Ga. was settled in 1732, slavery was not allowed.
