To tell the truth there is an area some twenty miles west of me that has a large segment of the population who are known locally as Redbones. You can Google for Louisiana Redbones and get results.

They are some of the finest people you would ever hope to meet and some of the worst enemies you can make if you disrespect them. I consider Oakdale, Louisiana about as far east as this group settled.
