Chase, I couldn't agree with you more! And I see much merit in the comments of Mr. Purvis, whom I often take umbridge to. I might only add to your comment that a conservative is a liberal who has been mugged...by reality...lol
I have the greatest respect for a man like William Wilberforce. If you know anything about his perserverance over something like 30 years of trying to get his point across, you have to doff your hair-piece to him. This country desperately needs men of his caliber these days, and if we get them, it will be from the heartland, not Hollowood.
I don't like the Confederate flag--secession's rag, as one old song called it, but I agree with you that we should support the right of Mssrs. Purvis and Whitlock to fly it if that's what they want to do. At least they don't wear their trousers down around their knees, if I can extrapolate that from their comments.
But I am afraid the cancer of PC has taken over the country and already the descendants of the blue and the gray that FDR honored at the last gathering of Gettysburg vets, are all in the same boat, back to back, fighting a rearguard action against overwhelming odds that would homogenize us all like a glass of milk.
It's sad, it really is. But that's the bubblegum country we live in any more. The gospel according to Bazooka Joe
