Supposedly the only man that Gen Patrick R. Cleburne Killed was a Confederate Leiutenant. The incident occurred in 1862 when Cleburne was asleep in a house being used as a headquarters, where a union prisoner was also being kept.

In the middle of the night Gen. Cleburne was awoke to the shouts that the prisoner was excaping. Cleburne grabs his pistol and enters the dark hallway to see a man running down the hall. Cleburne commands the man to halt and then fired striking the Lieutenant who was in pursuit of the prisoner in the neck. The Lieutenant died of his wounds.
