I kept reading over and over the accounts of "Negro-Dogs" and "Bloodhounds" tracking and tearing people apart. It has to be a seperate breed from the common "Bloodhound" because the aggressive nature of the attacks. I had to find an abolitionist writing discribing the dogs as Cuban and later found even more exact details of the breed. The most interesting fact to me is that the dog is extinct. So Hollywood is probably incorrect when they show "Bloodhounds" chasing runaway slaves.
