I have read that book and it was very interesting. In other books I've read on Hamilton, I've never heard of any real evidence that this was anything other than a rumor maybe started by those he was at political odds with. His angst and disfavor on speaking of his birth was because he was born a bastard. His father was not a real force in his early life but his mother was a very driven and interesting woman in her own right. He reconciled with his father toward the end of the elders life.
The Elizabeth Hamilton Goss, widow of Benjamin Goss who had the land in Elbert County was the aunt of Alexander. She is my 6th GGrandmother. Her brother James was Alexander's father.
