As we know, hindsight is 20/20. I believe Lincoln would have been even more aggessive. After all, he would have been an outgoing president who had nothing to lose. Almost like our present "Feuhrer" who keeps trying to side step the constitution. Then again Lincoln may have just refused to leave office. After all, did he not get around the constitution when he suspended the Writ of Habeus Corpus? He promised the people he would restore the Union and was willing to do anything to make it so. Even to the point of destroying the thing he supposedly was trying to protect. American freedoms. Does this not remind you of a president whom we shall call G.W.B? I believe we have a parallel today.A president who pursues a war with his own agenda.You know, make the people afraid and they'll obey any order, do anything, give up every freedom, for the "promise" of safety and unity? OOPS! I better end this post. My wife always gets disgusted with me when I voice my suspicions of our noble leader!
