I still like Robert E. Lee's quote better.

"It is good that War is so terrible, lest we grow to love it too much."

May God save us from a "Clear War" where there is no price in human suffering to pay by those waging the war. For example the idea of the infamous "Push Button War".

There was a episode of the original "Star Trek" series where two societies on different worlds had developed a "clean" warfare where computers wage a war that had been going on for 300 years, and the people marched into extermination chambers because they blindly followed their governments edicts.

If we wage war, let us wage TOTAL War, and get it over with quickly. We have grown too fond of playing at war.
