I would pray for peace also. As for defending our country,I was once asked to do this and if I had to I would do it again. Me and many brothers that we meet on this message board.
I would pray that your son lives to a ripe old age. As for defending our country, I think that is what we are doing against a great evil that exists in this world. It is better to fight them over there than here.
I agree with you that the world needs God. In a town not to far from where I am writing this the city had a sign that said "The World Needs God". Not far from that town is a state prison. One of the inmates was offended that such a sign was near where he was locked up for his crime or crimes. He filed suit in Federal court here in Springfield and that wonderful group called the ACLU went to court on his behalf and the Judge ruled against the town and made them take their sign down.So much or being politically correct. The ACLU, now that is something to pray against.
I don't want to make this to long, but I work at an airport and we have a government contract to fuel and ground handle aircraft for them and I see LOTS of Guard and Reserve brothers and sisters go through here on their way to protect and defend me and my grand babies and your son as well and I would ask you to join me in praying for their saftey and safe return.
