Re: Quote of the day
In Response To: Re: Quote of the day ()

Just to let everybody know where I am coming from I am indeed a Christian. Just this year I have been ordained as a Deacon in our congregation and am the Youth Minister as well. Rather than state what I think God wants us to do I will let His own word tell me...

Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.... Hebrews 12: 14 (NASB)

Now, I know God has ordained war before and will do so again. But myself, Ambrose Bierce, Thomas Jefferson or nobody else is God so I feel we should pray for peace and let God decide when we go to war.

As for everything that happens being within God's will I will state my belief that God has two kinds of will. His perfect will and his permissible will. Was it God's perfect will that Cain killed Able? I think not! Never the less it was permitted to happen. Before anybody credits something as being God's perfect will they need to approach the throne room of heaven and ask God himself.

I apologize to Jim Martin for this thread going off-topic. I'll try to stay out of the fray from now on.
