The display of the Confederate Flag in such a despicable manner is an abomination that should rile all Americans. The targeting of any symbol held dear by any minority group in America is insighting hatred and further division within American society and should not be tolerated. This is especially true when it envolves an American historical symbol.

However, having said that, it is truly unfortunate that Americans have allowed one of their most sacred historical symbols to be usurped by others in their society that hold an extremist view regarding racial tolerance. By doing so, Americans have allowed the dogma of these few to become the dominate ideals associated with this sacred symbol which was entrusted to their descendants. The display in Florida is a direct result of the inaction of those with a vested interest that chose to do nothing. Write a letter! Make a telephone call! Don't allow apathy to destroy your heritage.
