Honey Springs I.T. was the first or closest supply warehouse to Ft Gibson. Ft Gibson was tossed back and forth between the two warring factions. Anyway Honey Springs was just South of Elk Creek and generallt the farthest North supply and headquarters for the South. General Blunt decided to move the Southerners out as they were harassing the river boats coming to Ft Gibson. The Confederates had a poor quality powder from Mexico and had to withdraw South to Perryville I.T. near McAlester Ok.

Our program last night was several types of Civil War reenactors located in camps on a walking trail on the battle grounds. Candle lanterns lit the walk wit a guide to lead the way. They stopped at each station and eased dropped onto conversations of the reenactors acting out skits. We Confederate soldiers we discussing the situation of the Army and situations of homefolks being burned out. Including mentioning Ewing's Order #11 in Missouri. It was actually fun, and no firearm to clean afterward. The evening meal of Corned beef and cabbage was provided and we ate heartedly,,,at the camp we cooked boiled peanuts as a detractor for the guests,,,you either love boiled peanuts or hate them, there is no middle ground,,,,LOL
