War with Mexico

Very interesting Martin. My understanding is that one of the main reasons the Texans revolted was because Mexico insisted the settlers convert to the Catholic religon. I have also read that there were only 300 Mexician settlers in Texas in 1836 "use it or loose it"

I also had cousins who fought in the Mexican War, two that I recall were Henry Clay of KY (an officer) KIA at Buena Vista, one of the last casualties of that battle, another Kentuckian, Volney Bedford survived to fight the yankees. He was brother of my great grandfather, John Franklin Bedford.

I think we should all be happy that the USA won...who the hell would want to live under a Mexican Govt..?
