Point well made David. Here is another one.

These men died in June. There was no embalming as we know it today. No amount of money would have enabled my ancestor's relatives to bring his body home over 300 miles away to SE Texas. The Union army took their soldier 40 miles to their military cemetery in OCCUPIED Little Rock. His yankee family surely got some comfort.

I realize there was at least one Confederate cemetery in Arkansas. That does not change anything I said here or in my first post.
