So many Southern Historical Monuments/Landmarks such as this one fall victim to neglect. Although sad to see, it is a reality of a society that chooses to turn their heads, for many reasons i.e.; association with anything Southern and later complain about it only after it’s far too late. This particular landmark(structure) sadly in my opinion falls into the too late to do anything about it.
