Re: Thomas diLorenzo....????

Most people are in it for something, regardless if it is to make money, to be in charge of a group, or to "be somebody." There are only a small number who does this simply for the love and respect of the men who fought the war. I would imagine that goes for the folks on the blue side also. I doubt the Lincoln books were given away or printed for free. That point being made if Thomas diLorenzo does make money for his work so what? What is their point? As for Thomas diLorenzo's points he makes, I believe most of his informationncan be verified with online reserah.

It is my understanding that secession was legal at the time. Even if it was not, then why wouyld Lincoln offer the states to return to the Union and keep their slaves? Why would the Confederates have to take an oath to become citizens again, to vote, and why would the states be required to add a no secession resolution to their constitution? Also the Confederate constitution closely mirrowed the US constitution, if they were so anxious to do awy withthat set of laws then why did they adopt the same set? Just does not make sense to me.
