George, supposedly he was killed at Big Bethel, but others have disputed that, saying that other skirmishes in WV were first, if I remember. But if memory serves, the guy was 25 and left a wife and 2 kids. Think he was from Mass. Believe his marker credits him with being Yankee #1 for yall.
