Hey Jim, it takes a while for my post to show. And here I've been trying to be on my best behavior..lol. Check out "Richmond...The Peninsula Campaign" by Stephen Sears. What do you think was wrong with McCllean, Jim? A mental block, the man was not stupid, he was an engineer. I mean at training, logistics or support he would have been great. Was it fear of failure or what. His large ego, it was like a messianic complex, but he still wouldn't take a chance.
