I was thinking that when I made my post, but on reflection, I am wondering if Arthur MacArthur might not have the distinction of being first. I am not sure, I just throw that out for thought. An interesting aside, in the WBTS Arthur Macarthur and Simon B Buckner were both generals. In WW**, Douglas (Arthurs son and Simon B Jr, SB Buckners son were both generals).
