New Author Announcement

Nothing does this myth-based, back alley, overly emotional amateur historian more good, than when we are joined by a respected author and academic like Kenneth Noe. I've noticed that Dr. Noe has posted on several of our state-based message boards asking our visitors and contributors to help him with a little research on one of his current projects. If you see one of Dr. Noe's postings and have something you can offer in response to his questions, please make him feel welcome. If you're not familiar with Dr. Noe's work, here is a bibliography of his published books:

I had ancestors in both the 22nd Indiana Infantry and the 43rd Georgia Infantry in the battle of Perryville. I first became familiar with Dr. Noe's work because of his outstanding history of this battle.

Chase, if you haven't read these books already, you might enjoy his "Civil War in Appalachia" and "A Southern Boy in Blue: The Memoir of Marcus Woodcock, 9th Kentucky Infantry (U.S.A)".
