Mahlon,

I am in contact with Bruce McGallion, a descendant of a Confederate Veteran he informs me that his ancestor and his wife are buried in East, Hill Cemetery, Roff, Oklahoma. Their graves are not marked. I checked the online transcription for the cemetery, they are not listed. I wrote the contact person at http://www.rootsweb.com/~okpontgs/easthill.html#M but received no reply.

Can you help us out? We need to verify burial in this cenmtery and get permission to place a “In Memory Of” marker.

Below is all the information I have .

“I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to have an "In Memory Of" headstone placed for Pvt. John McGallian. A great grandaughter of his told me several years ago that he and his wife were buried in unmarked graves in the East Hill Cemetery, Roff, Oklahoma. This great grandaughter spent a lot of time with her grandmother, a daughter of John and Sarah, in her growing up years. It was then that the grandaughter learned where her great grandparents were buried, that being in the same cemetery where her grandmother would later be buried.

Please let me know what I need to do to proceed with the request for placement of an "In Memory Of Headstone" for Pvt. McGallian

Sincerely,

Bruce McGallion”

This information was submitted to our 7th Miss. Gravesite project @ http://www.geocities.com/poboy1961/index.html by Mr. McGallion.
