Great photo David. My wife and I were in Fredericksburg last month and spent some time on the north side of the river at Chatham Manor. You can almost throw a rock from the bluffs to the town buildings. It is described that the Federals opened an artillery barrage with over 170 guns on the crest of Stafford heights. In eight hours they fired approx. 9000 rounds. While destroying a great deal of the city of Fredericksburg the bombardment had little effect on the ANV. Amazing.
