Glad to hear you ventured off the beaten path a bit. Red Hill? I've got a lot of friends in Brookneal that is close by. Appomattox doesn't bother me as I grew up in Lynchburg and we visited there often. Guess it took the sting out. hehehehe. Natural Bridge is indeed a special place. My wife and I will go up there for a long weekend and either visit Lexington or go back down the mountain to Glasgow where the Maury and James Rivers come together and fish for smallmouth bass. Did you make it a little north of Lexington on Rt 11 to the site of Sam Houston's birthplace? And Lexington isn't far from new Market. You should have stayed longer. There is so much cool stuff in Virginia. I hope you were impressed with the hospitality? Or should I say, I hope you were treated with hospitality.
