Personally I think that if this is the pattern then the southern people should be paid reparations also for the violations of federal laws which occured against their rights under the Constitution. The presidence has already been established to include none other than the reparations paid to Robert E. Lee's family for Arlington plantation. And to that the unjust treatment of the Southern people by the United States Government during the Reconstruction and the lost of homes and lands that had been registered as homesteads in 1860. I wonder what 80 acres of prime woods and farmlands and all of it potenual production over 145 years would be worth at todays prices? Maybe if we recieved these repartations the standard of living in the south would be on a par with those of the northern states.
If the blacks are to recieve federal reparations I would if they will repay to the federal governmnet the present day value for the 40 acress and a mule, that they supposedly recieved, since we are paying reparations for mythology now days.
I will point out that the Confederacy was formerly reconized as a legimate government by the Vatican. The Vatican also be reconized as a legimate government among world Governments at that time. That as a reconized world government the War was between to seperate nations, not one nation in a "Civil War". And that no Peace Treaty was ever signed between those two nations, only military surrenders. With our progressive movement todays a one world Government and a world United Nations Court, and the anti-american attitude in the United Nations, I wonder just what the outcome of a suit brought in a World Court against the United States might be regarding Southern Independence and our own Reparations.
How are we any differnet for being a seperate nation within the United states than the American indians.
