You know the last time I was at Gettysburg NMP, I wondered about the Corp of Trees, on Cemetery Ridge. The trees there were certainly old, but did not look like they had been there 150 Plus years. I am certain that the original trees were severely battle damaged at least from the artillery that was fired in their direction. So much of the Battles of the 2nd and 3rd days swirled around those trees.

I wonder how many witness trees are left on Gettysburg and other battlefields?
