This little book by James Street was published in 1953. The author was a Southerner, but not biased. He does not cite his sources but most of us either already know or can find sources for his remarks. He does not make heroes of anyone by ignoring their shortcomings but tells it like it is.

All you die-hard blues and greys should read this book and think about what he is all about. The man writes the book like he is sitting there telling a story and it is very enjoyable.
