Frank....Good one. Years ago while working at a local motorcycle shop in Richmond we hired a fellow from England that naturally had a great interest in scooters. Well, one of the relics that was at this shop, that we regularly abused, riding around the neighborhood at MAX speed (35mph? and wobbly) was a mid 60's model Lambretta scooter. It was actually in pretty good shape both mechanically and in appearance. Well "Darren" aquired it and it became his passion. He rode that thing everywhere. He got a speeding ticket in Northern Virginia while on a trip to Pennsylvania! for a scooter rally. 72 in a 55 mph zone. When he went to court the judge told him that he had owned one of those same scooters as a kid. Then he confirmed the charge of speeding and the MPH in question. He told Darren that he wondered "how in the hell" (judge's actual words) he got that thing to go so fast, slammed his gavel down and said......"case dismissed". Ya gotta love it.
