Does any other State song express such anti Union, anti Lincoln feelings as Maryland's?

Lincoln is referred to as a 'despot' and a 'tyrant' in this song.

This song so enraged Lincoln that it precipitated his string of unconstitutional crimes against Maryland's citizens and elected officials.

To answer your questions, no other State song reflects the feelings of the citizens towards the actions of the Federal Government. The song was written after the Pratt Street Masacre in Baltimore, thus the stanza, "Avenge the patriotic gore that flecked the streets of Baltimore."

The War Crimes against Maryland were done to keep Maryland in the Union. The Despot knew if Maryland had the opportunity to join her sister Southern stated in the CSA, she would. The song started out as a poem, it did not become a tune until the war started. The song did not become the offical song until 1939. Tennessee was the only other state to recieve the wrath of the federal government as Maryland. But it was Maryland that suffered the most and to some, Maryland is STILL occupied to this day. Because the Despot did so much to the population of Maryland, since the War it has been a Blue state.

I would have to say that the song was not the cause of the war crimes against the citizenry of Maryland by the Despot government. The War crimes were in place to keep Maryland in the Union - period.
