Re: Abe Lincoln on "The Rifleman"
My stomping grounds are just south of most places you mentioned, and north of Atlanta. I call myself a minority, being a native Cobb Countian. LOL We used to ride our bikes up Kennesaw Mountain, when it had a gravel road to the top, and coast down, without using the barkes. Whooooeeee!!! My grandaddy Price was a preacher, and used to take me on his rounds to visit folk in West Cobb. We usually stopped at the famous Lost Mountain Store to get an RC Cola. We visited the county work camp on Sundays. After he gave his sermon we ate lunch (dinner) with the inmates. They always had ham and lima beans, which they raised on the farm. He had a little store on Powder Springs Road, in Marietta. A trustee would come by on Satutdays with his truck loaded with the Sherrif's blood hounds. Pawpaw would fill his list from other inmates, and give bones to the dogs. I sure do miss him. Stan
