Re: Revolutionary War Pension Statements
Dang, Cump! You could probably get a spot on Lee's Staff! While there were about 50 Borings on each side, (We spread out a lot since 1688!) I've only nailed down three directly related to me, and the highest rank was 4th Sgt. My GGF died at Seven Pines, but the 18th Georgia got around while in the ANV, from Gaines Mill, Second Manassas, and Antietam while with the Texas Brigade, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Chickamauga, though not engaged, Knoxville, where Colonel Ruff was killed, Spottsylvania, the Wilderness, Monocacy, and Cedar Creek, where the last one was captured. The regiment surrendered 52 men at Appomattox Courthouse. Uncle Frank was at Camp Douglas, and Uncle Alex at Point Lookout. They were paroled in June 1865, and walked home to Cobb County. You'd do to ride the river with. Stan
