Though dissention to some extent was tolerated in Britian. As for the liberty of the Indian tribe. Those who went against their own traditions were outcast and cutoff from their tribe. Personal liberty? More like loyalty to the tribe. The American frontestierman, the mountain man and those who traveled alone, had a great value on personal freedom.
