What I got for Christmas

One of my presents for Christmas is a book by local historian Jim Blount....the Civil War and Butler County... (Ohio). I will post some excerpts from it. My Union ancestors in the war were East TN Unionist, with a Russian ancestor..Nikolai Turchinov, who lived in the middle part of Ohio, so I haven't any relatives from Butler
County in the war. Since however this is my home county, I thought that I would post on some of the men from that area who served during the war. One was a Hamiltonian native, Major George W. Rue who accepted the surrender of John Hunt Morgan near Salineville Ohio.

Cump Turchin.
